AFRO | PUNK
If you haven't heard about it yet...
Over this glorious weekend there were many things happening around the world, in fashion, business, music, and of course some things that didn't happen. Something that did happen in our beloved Brooklyn, New York was AFROPUNK FEST
AFROPUNK is an influential community of young, gifted people of all backgrounds who speak through music, art, film, comedy, fashion and more. Originating with the 2003 documentary that highlighted a Black presence in the American punk scene, it is a platform for the alternative and experimental. Remaining at the core of its mission are the punk principles of DIY aesthetics, radical thought and social non-conformity. AFROPUNK is a voice for the unwritten, unwelcome and unheard-of, redefining the urban experience.

The next tour dates are in Atlanta on October 3rd till the 4th and in Paris next year (which we are just dying to see happen)! Here are our favorite pictures, there would be a million if possible but that's why Instagram exists!

Look Good... Feel Better
Beauty is everywhere, in everyone, in everything. Beauty is does not overlook those who are sick, sad or are outcast by society. Beauty is happiness, beauty is confidence, beauty is strength, beauty is you.No matter who you are or where you are, everyone has encountered beauty and everyone has encountered pain. We try to be strong in moments of weakness and try to overcome all the obstacles in our ways, but it takes enormous strength to overcome sickness. Cancer is a particular type of sickness that takes away all your strength, all your confidence but should never take away ones beauty.
Look Good Feel Better is an organization that is dedicated to improving self esteem and quality of life for those undergoing treatment for cancer since 1987. They aim to improve self image and appearance through free group and self- help beauty sessions to create a sense of support, confidence, and community. Till this day they hold group programs in every state using products donated by Personal Care Products Council Member Companies. They also offer Teen and Spanish programs, self-help mailer kits, online support, and a 24-hour hotline are also offered – as well as numerous independent licensed international Look Good Feel Better affiliate programs across the globe.
We wanted to give Look Good Feel Better a spotlight on the amazing work they do but also alert all our readers that they are holding their fourth annual Beauty Editors Day this Thursday, August 4th from 4 - 8 pm at Saks Fifth Avenue Flagship Store in New York. There will be over 25 Beauty Brands present along with 40 of the Top Beauty Editors!
They will be offering consumers with 15 minute consultations with their favorite beauty editors in exchange for a $40 donation to the Look Good Feel Better program.Consultations will review current trends in skincare, fashion and makeup; inspiration and insider secrets; specific beauty advice; and product demonstrations along with a gift!

Summer Nails Hit Sails
Summer time is here, the sun is out, the waves are crashing and that means all eyes are on you! Time to ditch those boring office nails that keep you second guessing your style. These are our top 4 picks for this summer that will keep you cool, fresh and compliment your gorgeous glow. Don't forget the lotion and cuticle oil though, nothing worse than dry nails!
Our first pick is Trust Fund Beauty's Elegantly Wasted polish which is a cool purple pastel with a blueish hue. This color is a perfect pastel feel to compliment any tan. It is the perfect color to pop when you are at the office or even out to lunch with the girls!
Coming in second is Smith and Cult's Porn-A-Thon, yes it is called Porn-A-Thon and yes it is sweet perfection. The sweet coral color not only compliments your tan, your gold bracelets and rings but also office appropriate to reflect the sunshine when the office feels like a drag!
Our third with nothing but a 90's childhood perfect, one word: GLITTER. Covent Garden Mews Blossom Polish by Nails Inc is perfect to layer on or just fly solo. This light colored spec'd polish will be the hit for your afternoon beach date, even if you're the only one to notice.
Our fourth must have color is Dior's Top Coat Tie Dye. Must we say more. DIOR. TIE DYE. You should get the point by now but if not just get on Pinterest and look at all the Ombre type nails you could do with this bottle of beauty!

The Eye has to Travel - Diana Vreeland

This afternoon we spent some good time Rendez-vous-ing along Diana Vreeland's past discovering models, traveling the world, working with designers, pushing boundaries and making Vogue something people still gaze at in awe. Such an inspiring woman not only being an influential editor at Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue but also a woman who pushed what beauty was to a new extremes during her time.If you have a chance catch The eye has to travel - you will be inspired and humbled by her story and all you can learn from her story. OCC- Lip Tar Matte
So Even though its a bit early for Lip Fame Friday but we just couldn't resist sharing with everyone what we just discovered. Since IMATS just happened in LA and of course our favorite YouTube Make Up Bloggers have just overloaded us with Make Up hauls, brands and just leaving us wanting more. One of our Favorites Kandee Johnson - (Channel) did a huge haul including Dose of Colors, Kryolan, Appeal Cosmetics just to name a few! But what we are most excited about it OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics) newest addition to their Lip Tar collection...

We're -on our own- obsessed with Matte in general that this just made our hearts melts and just made our mornings that much better. With a long lasting high pigment color that won't dry out your lips, we give this our high rating- and not just because it's matte.
