New out on the shelves is the latest addition to the John Frieda Collection. Now, personally, in my shower John Frieda does not has a spot amongst Pureology, Macadamia and my other products but I thought I'd give it a try.
I was looking for something to add shine and boost up the color in my hair to get me until my next hair color appointment. I had heard great things about it and wanted to try it out for myself. I am a bit fan of Sebastian Cellophanes color glosses ( you can find here) The Cellophanes add a truly rich high pigment back into your hair with added gloss to make your hair feel smooth and color looking fresh.
This coloring refreshing is another at home treatment that you can do in your shower.
DIRECTIONS
Once you are done shampooing and conditioning your hair you add in the gloss and leave it on for 3 minutes and then rinse out. Remember that this is not a dye, this is not going to add a whole new color to your hair but it will add the life back into it especially if it is looking a bit dull.
PROCESS
Squeeze all the excess water out of your hair before applying. Pour the gloss (which is like a gel) into your hands and run it through your hair. Make sure to evenly distribute the product from your roots to your tips so your can get an even color. I recommend putting your hair up into a bun to avoid staining your shoulders or back. Also rinse off your hands immediately or use gloves while doing so. Remember that this is depositing color into your hair so it will stain. Leave on for a couple of minutes; I always use color glosses or masks on for extra time and spend some time shaving my legs or extra exfoliation. My motto is the longer the better, I use to leave on masks for hours while I cleaned up the house or caught up on tv. To each their own though!
OVERALL
After rinsing and seeing the results I was thrilled with the color and thought it worked really well. I would place it second to the Sebastian Cellophane but for the price you can't beat it! I got mine at Target for $14.19 and online for $11.99 (Target). I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a in-between solution! John Frieda Colour Refreshing Gloss is now a staple in my shower and a great product for all.
